Get to know historical Salsal Castle in North Iran

Salsal Castle is located at a height of 80 meters from the ground and on a rocky hill 15 km from Hashtpar city (the center of Talesh city) and the center of Lisar village in Gilan Province.

The Castle consists of two parts. The first is the outer part, which covers a relatively large area and is separated from the surrounding lands by a thick wall.

The inner part of the castle, the remaining of which is located on a rock, makes the second part of it.

The citadel of the castle is located at the top of the hill and today only its walls are remained. Apparently, the citadel was built on different floors, the lower floors of which were filled following the fall of the upper ones.
